Entrepreneur by day. Artist by night.
Building businesses, making music, bringing people together, and trying to live an interesting life.
One life, several rooms
I've never been particularly interested in choosing one lane.
For most of my life I was told the same thing in different words: pick a thing, go deep, and let the rest go. I understood the logic. I just never believed it. The person who builds a payments company and the person who plays records until two in the morning are not two people managing a scheduling conflict. They're the same person, curious in the same way, about how things actually work and who's in the room.
So this site isn't a résumé. It's closer to a field recording — businesses I'm building, music I'm making, the tables I keep trying to make longer, and the things I'm reading and arguing with.

Payments is plumbing. That's exactly why I like it.
Merchant services, payment technology, operating companies and early-stage bets. It's regulation, risk, trust and a thousand unspectacular decisions that decide whether a business gets paid on a Friday.
What I'm building
A set is a business problem with better lighting.
I play and produce as DJ Jordan Miller and build in music through Mixmode. Read the room, take a risk, hold your nerve, and know when not to drop the obvious record.
Listen
Almost everything good in my life started at a table.
Austin, Jewish life, philanthropy, and a monthly gathering called Third Thursday that started small and refused to stay that way. I'm not especially good at networking. I'm decent at hosting.
Community
I'd rather be interesting than consistent.
Business lessons that only make sense in hindsight, books I keep re-reading, experiments that mostly fail, and observations I'm still testing in public.
Read
The rest of it is not a footnote.
Training before the day starts. Twenty-odd countries. Faith, family, long dinners, friendships kept up over decades, and a running list of things I'm trying to be less bad at.
LifeThe story so far
It has never gone in a straight line. That's increasingly the point.
What I'm Building
Selected companies, projects and bets
A working list rather than a portfolio page. Some are companies I operate, some are investments, one is a monthly dinner.

Warm, patient, low-end-forward sets built for rooms where people are actually talking to each other — and a music project, Mixmode, built around the same instinct.

Community
Getting good people in the same room, on purpose, repeatedly
Austin gave me a city worth investing in. Jewish life gave me a calendar that insists on gathering. Third Thursday is what happens when you take both seriously and put a date on it.

Austin
Civic involvement and the people building here.
Jewish leadership
Boards, giving, and showing up when it's inconvenient.
Third Thursday
A monthly gathering that keeps outgrowing the room.
Philanthropy
Quietly, and where it compounds.

Life
There is a lot of life outside the work
Training before the day starts. Travel that changes the way I think. Food, faith, friendships kept up over decades, and a running list of things I'm trying to be less bad at.

Ideas
Thinking out loud
Say hello
No pitch. Just an open door.
If we met somewhere, if you're building something interesting, if you want to come to a dinner, or if you just want to argue about a record — write to me. I read everything and answer most of it.
